Bind Off the Edge of Your Weaving

I've been weaving this week with the idea of New Year's Eve in mind.  I'm making an evening bag for
the Authentic Knitting Board Company using their All in One Loom.  It allows one to make larger
pieces of fabric than your average peg loom can.  Anyway, I am pulling out all the stops and going for
some serious bling with some fab gold metallic ribbon and braid.

At Christmas, all roads lead home.  --  Marjorie Holmes

The holiday party season is in full swing.  Decorate your ear lobes with a pair of miniature Christmas ornaments.  They

Christmas doesn't come from a store, maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more....
Dr. Suess from How the Grinch Stole Chrismas!

Grandma loved to make ornaments using sequins, pins and ribbon on a Smoothfoam base.  She'd buy intricate kits and then spend all afternoon making her "treasures" as she called them.   This is my version with a contemporary twist using craft tape to cover the surface before adding the sequins.  My version takes less time to make (approximately an hour), but still has a colorful sparkle.  Try your own tape and sequin combo or make my winterberry.

Designer Crafts Connection :: Christmas Wreath of Favorite Ornaments

Christmas Wreath

Christmas is the season for kindling the fire of hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.  --  Washington Irving

I've inherited scores of ornaments from family, especially Mom.  Christmas was her absolute favorite holiday.  As I began to unpack everything over Thanksgiving, it became quickly obvious that our tree wasn't going to hold our extensive collection.  Rather than pack away the excess of ornaments, I decided to make a wreath with them.  I love the final result, but better yet I upcycled the wire base from a previous project that was looking a tattered and tired after months in the sun.
